Cubby Winner Delighted

News Article from Friday 27th April 2018

DGT's time at the Toowoomba Show was enjoyed by all and we had many people enter to win one of our student made Cubby Houses.

One of the winners Alicia Pomerenke, of Grantham, was quite overwhelmed when DGT phoned to advise that she had won.

Alicia recalled that she had purchased a cubby house for her four daughters just prior to the 2011 Grantham Floods, and during the flood event, their cubby house and a number of other possessions were swept away. Alicia and her daughters were thrilled to hear the news that after so many years they would be receiving a new Cubby House to play in.

DGT Trainers, Brett Lucas and Ethan McCleverty kindly delivered the cubby and reconstructed it for Amanda after work one afternoon, as Amanda’s husband works away a lot as a truck driver.

The combined efforts from Brett, Ethan and Ethan’s Cert I Constructions students has showcased how a small project such as this can truly provide not only valuable training and learning experiences for our students, but also provide some joy to a well-deserved family.

DGT's construction students are available for all of your custom handmade wooden items. Whether it be bird houses, picnic tables, dog kennels, stand up garden beds, cubby houses or anything else you may be requiring.

Please contact the DGT Training Division team and they will do their best to meet your custom needs at a fraction of the cost of most retailers.
