Brandon is living proof that practical training leads to real career opportunities and the ability to move towards your dreams in life.

Brandon first applied and was accepted as a trainee in the Toowoomba Construction Skills Program run by DGT as part of the Statewide Skilling Queenslanders for Work Initiative run by the Queensland Government. 

"I first applied (into the program) as my dream down the track is to build my own house by the time I am 33. I am not a big inside person, outside is just something I like I doing." 

Brandon took full advantage of the practical skills and quality training available to him through DGT's program and very soon turned quite a few heads with his commitment, talent and dedication. 

Due to this strong work ethic and genuine desire for a career in Carpentry Brandon was offered the opportunity to complete 1 days work experience with All Built Up (ABU) onsite at DGT's new office building site. ABU gave 4 of the Construction trainees the opportunity and Brandon was the one chosen to join the team full time!

Brandon then went on and completed his Certificate I in Construction early in order to commence his full time apprenticeship in Carpentry with DGT hosted by All Built Up full time!

Brandon has 90 days initially with All Built Up then is hoping to remain on for the remainder of his learning saying "I love it here, it's a nice fit, it's outside and keeping me active."

By all reports Brandon is going very well working on building our new team offices at 56 Duhig Street in Harristown. He is an example of how seeking training in line with your future career ambitions works in helping create practical pathways to your future career and at the same time realising your dreams.

"The training has contributed heaps to my life goal and dream. Ian taught me so much, the stuff they taught me is what I am using on a day to day basis with ABU now, I would recommend to anyone who is looking to go into Construction."
