DGT’s CPR first aid training course will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain breathing and circulation in an adult, child or infant following cardiac arrest.
It is suitable for those needing a CPR certificate for to remain compliant at work and for anyone interested in having the knowledge to help in an emergency.
This course will teach you how to:
Legal and other requirements
Basic life support
Demonstration and use of a defibrillator (AED)
Relevant Career Pathways
This unit of competancy assists almost all professions to ensure a safe working environment however may be required for;
- Healthcare workers
- Aged care workers
- Mining & Resources
- Construction & Trades
There are no pre-requisites for this course; however it is recommended that participants have sufficient English language and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the CPR training.
Participants will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments at floor level. This includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin for a period of two minutes.
If you have poor mobility or a current injury please discuss this with the DGT team prior to booking.
Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian.
Participants are required to attend 100% of this CPR training and complete all assessments to a satisfactory level at our training facility or in your workplace.
The unit of competency issued once all learning requirements of this training course are satisfactorily met is;
- HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
This nationally recognised qualification is issued by DGT with the Registered Training Orgnisation (RTO) number 1719.
In attending a CPR course with DGT you are booking into a face to face class conducted either at our dedicated training facility or at your workplace.
4 hours, usually at the beginning of our 1 day First Aid course.
