The Certificate III in Carpentry is specific and mandatory to those undertaking a carpentry apprenticeship with full funding available if eligibility is met. 

Course Description

This national carpentry qualification will ensure you or your apprentice are ready to begin building a career in the construction industry. DGT's Certificate III in Carpentry course is self-paced, flexible and has a strong focus on the practical skills developed in the workplace.

Completed throughout the duration of a carpentry apprenticeship and relying on both on the job and off the job training. The DGT team will assign one of our trade qualified, industry experienced trainers to work with the apprentice and employer to develop a personalised Training Plan with consideration given to the individual circumstances and the range of work that will be covered in the workplace. They will work out exactly what will be on the job, what will need to be covered off the job and arrange this to suit your needs.  As well as a trainer each apprentice will be allocated an Employment Consultant. This is to support each and every apprentice and their employers throughout the training process and to ensure apprentices are developing skills and progressing through the apprenticeship and training.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in a total of 30 units of compentency this is made up of;

Course Details


Fully flexible start dates to suit your needs and approximately 3 years standard expected duration to complete the training. Our system is truly self-paced and suits all apprentices from mature aged apprentices to young apprentices starting out in their first career, including part time and school based apprentices.

Delivery method

Blended flexible mode of training delivery. Trainer support and mentoring provided. Training delivery and assessments are undertaken with a strong focus on the practical skills developed on the job.
