Course Description

The Certificate I in Construction offers a practical kick start to your career path in the trades and for those eligible is only $15!!! 

Join Sonny for this employment ready hands on course. Running as a consolidated 9 week program on Monday's and Tuesday's to ensure you waste no time in learning what you need to know for your real world apprenticeship or traineeship opportunity. This course offers an introduction to the construction industry, its culture, occupations, job roles and workplace expectations.

Course Requirements

To be awarded this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in 10 units of competency. There are 8 core units to complete plus 2 elective units which must be selected from the units listed below. 

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

  • CPCCCM1013A Plan and organise work
  • CPCCCM1014A Conduct workplace communication
  • CPCCCM2001A Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • CPCCCM2005B Use construction tools and equipment
  • CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry
  • CPCCOHS2001A Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
  • CPCCVE1011A Undertake a basic construction project

Elective Units

  • CPCCCM1015A Carry out measurements and calculations
  • CPCCCM2004A Handle construction materials
  • CPCCCM2006B Apply basic levelling procedures

Course Details

Students who are deemed competent will receive;

CPC10111 Certificate I in Construction
CPCCOHS1001A – Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
Both of which are recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

These certifications are nationally recognised. The qualification is issued by DGT (RTO 1719). 

Duration

2 full days a week on Mondays and Tuesdays for 9 weeks is all it takes.

The course is run from local community centres so that you have the ability to give back to the community through your practical course work.
