Certificate I in Construction Traineeships

DGT are excited to be able to deliver an 18 week paid traineeship as part of the Skilled UP - BUILD Program for 12 participants interested in making a career in Construction.  These traineeships will see participants work towards attaining a Certificate I in Construction and along the way acquire work ready skills.

This program aims to provide "on the job" training and give a taste of landscape construction, carpentry and renovation work.  In addition the project aims to provide life skills and career guidance needed to secure and maintain employment in construction.

Details of the traineeships includes;

  • Commences on  9th July 2018
  • Runs for 18 weeks
  • Uniforms and PPE provided 
  • Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm (with a rostered day off once a month)
  • Get paid to train
  • Assistance with resume writing
  • New state of the art tools 
  • Learn life skills including cooking and budgeting

Eligibility criteria does apply and includes;

  • You must be a Queensland Resident
  • You must be aged 15 years or older
  • You must not still be attending school

In addition DGT has the following selection criteria;

  • Have a legitimate interest in gaining a career in the construction industry
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to actively participate and work well with others
  • Drivers licence or access to own transport is desirable
