Full Time Construction Traineeship (6 month duration)

DGT are looking for 15 enthusiastic people to start a career in the construction industry. 

This is a unique traineeship which will you will give you an opportunity to learn about the construction industry and earn money at the same time!

You'll work hands-on to renovate the heritage listed Sunrise Way as part of your qualification - Certificate I in Construction.  In return, you'll gain real life experiences and career development.

You'll be supported by a supervisor who will help you learn new skills, then put them into practice on-site.  Additionally you will have a dedicated Employment Consultant that will provide feedback on your progression and be able to promote you for employment opportunities after the traineeship has concluded.

As part of this traineeship, you'll get to work on;

  • Landscaping and paving
  • Building a staff room
  • Re-configuring rooms

As Sunrise Way is a heritage listed building, you'll also gain valuable training into working within Toowoomba's heritage listing guidelines.   You will also gain an OH&S White Card and First Aid certificate.  

At our Training Centre you will acquire skills in the use of hand and power tools and get to build furniture and draw, quote and build small projects.
